Hello! I've been practicing yoga on and off since I was young, but started taking it seriously a few years ago, when two things happened. My mom was sick with some type of undiagnosable immune disorder (we're talking multiple trips to Northwestern, the Mayo Clinic, etc), but after doing yoga for a few months she was able to get better.

During this time, one morning before going for a run, I reached down to tie my shoelaces, and experienced the most excruciating pain *ever* down my back. I am not sure what exactly I did to my spine, or how, but there were a few days when I could not even get up (there was no way I could've made it to a clinic, so my doctor uncle visited & prescribed meds, on which I had to stay doped up for days). My dad told me about the appropriate yoga exercises for back problems, I started doing them religiously, and after a month it was as if nothing had happened.

Anyway, all this has convinced me that doing yoga regularly is essential to maintaining health, and I'm very excited to be part of this community, to share experiences with others & learn more.
