Exercise complementary to yoga
Hi guys Ive been practising yoga now for a while and am slowly starting to gain more and more strength and fitness. I was wondering if anyone can suggest any other forms of excercise that would work well with yoga, so I can do two different things every day. Im aware that things like going to the gym and doing weights shortens whilst yoga lengthens, so what could I do that would also help me with my yoga?or something that would help me gain fitness and not prevent me from progressing as steadily with the yoga. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Peace!! |

Other exercises
Hi,
I swim every second morning for 20 minutes or a few lengths, I find that swimming really compliments my yoga practice well and it also assist with lung capacity and pranayama. For muscle toning I do light weights on the alternate mornings, nothing heavy just enough to keep my toning in place, i am not focussed on building muscle so it is always just a comfortable programme. This works for me, something else might work for you, it took me almost a year to arrive at this balance that works for me. In the beginning I tried walking and cycling (didn't work, don't like those two exercises), so explore and enjoy the journey.
