It would seem a visit or telephone call would be appropriate if this information is critical to your joining.

yes, I agree. I was just curious right now since I am moving to maui. Then the only way to find out is to go into the club and start asking questions.

In my experience with clubs/gyms is that some have very strong yoga programs with lots of props and some simply have nothing but mats. If I were you, I would call and ask ahead of time. You can also ask to speak directly to the fitness director who manages the yoga classes.
I find I like the best of both worlds. I generally teach or belong to one nice healthclub and then visit a great yoga studio(usually Iyengar) 2 times a week. Yoga studios generally have the best workshops where you will learn the most!!

It depends on how much yoga you want and what the yoga studio charges. Generally, you will pay more to attend a yoga studio on a regular basis than a health club like 24hr/golds. Yoga classes run between $12-15 per class but you can buy packages of classes where the cost per class drops. Some studios offer a monthly fee for unlimited classes but it's generally quite expensive.

Even if you bought a yearly unlimited at a studio the chances are a mega gym would be 50% less. I think you can get a gym membership for like $30 a month. Paid upfront a yoga studio membership might average out to $80 a month.

However, the product at a yoga studio, in terms of yoga, is worth the extra monthly. After all, they're paying professionals and maintaining a certain sort of environment condusive to your practice.

No actually I was thinking just the opposite. Forget the gym membership and dedicate the proper dough to a yoga practice.

It's Hawaii right? Why do you need a gym exactly? Just go swim and run on the beach, ride a bike. Is it ever overcast?
