I'm considering a Yoga introduction workshop

I am not exactly sure where to post this and if this is the wrong section I am sorry and please move it if it should be somewhere else.

I am considering going to a Yoga Workshop in July (that is if my better half agrees I should, and at this point I will admit that does not seem likely)

But the workshop I am considering is called “Introduction to Yoga Weekend” and it will be at the Omega Institute and the teacher is Linda Lalita Winnick.

This is the description

With so many yoga styles available, it is often difficult for beginners to know how to start and sustain a yoga practice. The best way to get started is under the guidance of a skilled teacher like Linda Lalita Winnick.

This comprehensive workshop, for people of all ages and all levels of experience, provides an overview of the basic yoga postures, as well as the many styles of yoga available. We learn physical poses (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), spiritual philosophy, and meditation.

We practice proper alignment of the body, coordination of breath and movement, holding the postures, and flowing from one pose to another. In addition, we determine which styles are most appropriate for us, explore how to continue our yoga practice at home, and get recommendations on yoga books and videos

I was wondering what the opinion of those more experienced (than I) at yoga are about this.

I am also looking for arguments to justify the time and expense but first and foremost I am also wondering if it would be worth the time and expense. Or would it be better to continue on as I am and and work to get to having more time to get to the Yoga school I hope to go to in the fall.

I have contacted Omega to try and get more information but they have not responded and that was about 2 weeks ago

If Linda's bio and background appeal to you AND you fancy the description of how that is applied to her teaching AND those two things work for you then this might be the perfect workshop for you.

My question would be "how would this training serve you?". Not knowing your intentions makes it difficult to give you an answer for you. I do not know the teacher personally so I cannot give you feedback on that and I do not know what you have in mind relative to Fall.

Since I am so incredibly new to Yoga I was wondering about the other styles and what might fit me best but then I am doing (very much) beginner power Yoga and enjoying it and the school I am looking to go to is Iyengar so...

Now that I think about it (posting it for all to see, your answer and me reread what I posted helped) I am likely better off continuing what I am doing and focusing on that and getting to the Iyengar school in the Fall and not scattering my thoughts on all the possibilities out there.

I think I have my answer.
