Is there any yoga to increase our sex drive?

Can anybody please tell me about any tantric yoga that is used to increase our libido. Most often people try to keep off sex using yoga but I am a married man and I need the help of yoga to get me good result to satisfy my wife. But I am confused that whether these technique will be efficient as the generic or branded medications like the viagra or cialis or tadalis or zenegra. I have used them, and I have got good results but I am just curious to develop any such technique within myself that can help me to increase my sexual power. Please help me out

Are you researching for an article or do you really want to inquire for yourself?

If it is for yourself, you need to volunteer much more info about your own state of physical health, your mindset and your emotional health in your relationship with your wife. Do you suffer from impotence or erectile dystfunction or is your problem age, andropause, heart or testosterone or even emotionally related.

You talk about satisfying your wife, you do realise that a big hard erect penis and a variety of styles and positions and stamina are not the only ways to satisfy your wife? Do you talk to her? Does she tell you what she likes and dislikes? What is the state of your relationship with her?

Your diet play a huge role in a healthy and strong libido. Can you shed some light on what you eat?

Once you have addressed all these issue satisfactorily, then one can start to look at sexual tantra to be incorporated. If things are already wrong, sexual trantra will not be the most effective solution, you need to address the other first. What is your general experience with yoga asanas?

Mulabandha
Uddiyana Bandha, (for which there are preparatory techniques such as abdominal breathing and swana pranayama which are best practiced consistently for a while , in advance; a cookbook approach to uddiyana bhanda mastery or what it can evolve into nauli kriya in it's devleloped stages, may potentially not deliver optimal results)
Vajroli Mudra, & also ashwini mudra.
Good Diet and Healthy exercise.
Asana

There are deer-exercises (possibly from the Taoist tradition,I believe) but could mean excess sexual energy ,say if there is insufficient global purification.

To tackle the Mind one can go about purifying one's thoughts. This can be acheived through Deep Meditation or some other proven meditation technique or otherwise. The lust and/or desire originates in the Mind & beyond on the level of Consciousness. This is to tackle it at it's source,at the root.

Also conserving and moderating how often we release the seed or ejaculate is part and parcel of that kind of discipline. What we are doing is essentially priming the nervous system so it can handle larger conserves of energy and then make good use of that to later awaken the higher centres in the brain as the energies flow more freely along the suhumna and nadis and so forth, this allows us to evolve beyond baser animal instincts like lust and the urge to have sex etc.On a real and metaphorical level the 'sex' is actually going on right inside our own nervous system;Bear in mind that this is like the bridge between the inner our outer worlds. This only begins to make sense through sustained and long-term practice of all technqiues available ..

To engage in tantric sex for 'higher' 'spiritual' purposes',i.e to expand and evolve Consciousness, our own and of the planet, usually requires for most folk a certain amount of prior purification,in both body & mind.In practice it can be tricky to achieve and sustain but it can be done.

I think pharmaceuticals can alter our bio-chemistry but tend to fall short of tackling wider issues of living and existence.

Modern medicine tends not to look at the bigger picture;the fact that there is doctor for mind (psychiatry) that treats you seperately and one for the body is an illustration of this(it almost sounds insane!),and the fact that the material is not integrated with any non-material or 'spiritual' reality should be clear to anyone that can see that treating them separately is misguided and quite flawed. It does'nt address the whole person. There are many other things about it's shortcomings that would merit another topic.Real change usually requires a desire and willingness to change & grow,so some effort is involved, and this comes from within, by journeying to the source.

Sorry if I come across presumptious here but I'm not too clear if this is addressed to the OP. But just in case you were asking me this Q., I will venture an answer.

-Yes you don't need a partner to practice. You can practice solo; in fact practicing solo is a a great way to put the training wheels into action and gain alot of mastery in tantric sex.

In fact this is how i practiced in the past. The idea is to conserve the seed. But it took a little bit of practice to start getting the hang of it and i was involved in a lot of intensive asana/hatha yoga at the time.I was using deer exercises, genital stimulation and visualisation exercises combined as far as my reading of the somewhat esoteric manual i had wirtten by some swami monk had devised for the students in his care. It actually mentioned in the manual that some of his students were celibate but he suggested in fact,as far as i can remember, that probably most were not(although i don't think this matters;it's not what this or rather brahmacarya ,to put a yogic term on it, is really about) but simply voiced some concern with how they related to the opposite fairer sex.So there is sex, bbut no ejaculation if you get my point. That is the whole point- to sublimate the sexual urge and transmutate sexual energies. Like turning base metals into gold. You want to ensure that the body and mind is sufficiently purified so to be on the safe side and if you are a begiinner, err on the side of caution I had and have had to learn the hard way about some of the psychodynamic relationships and cerebral processes involved documented of course in the vast literature on the subject-kundalini etc...I did'nt have all the techniques i have now but now i am somewhat wiser and ,most importantly, much better informed.Turn knowledge and wise guidance into wisdom.

So if I'm able to do this I should be able to do the deed better right, and in turn that should make my partners experience more enjoyable which ultimately should lead to more of said deed?

Sorry I'm a total n00b to this stuff.

Hi Lencho,

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Yes,Most definitely. The difference is that your cravings for 'sex', per se,in itself will diminsh if not go altogether once the training is underway.

The lust will be replaced by, and i know this might sound corny, by love.Because you won't be motivated by sex and the imagined end-point or net-gain( what do "I" typically get out of it) .In fact animals are biologically programmed to have sex to ensure continued propagation of the species. But the yogic practices alter the programming in seeking this kind of end-game,certainly in males regards ejaculation, the desire to release seed.(For women it said to be the desire to gain the seed though the dynamics maybe somehwat different....though we do share alot in common-in a tantric sex as polar opposites they are our shakti and males are their shiva though the reality is optimally we do best if we have cultivated a combination of both polar charges + & -)There is a kind of sophisticated re-programmiing that goes on in our software with regard to neurochemical processes and conditined responses to stimuli, new habits are set up. It's like you're getting a new a feedback loop that is contained within your nervous system so that wasted energy ,through losing it in the seed( most notably but in also in a countless myriad of other ways) is otherwise with this new dynamic creatively used to light up previously dormant areas of the brain.Partly why it results in expanded states of Consciousness. It is said that a great deal of energy is utilised in the production of semen in the body but then regularly wasted. Also it said that wommen can lose sexual essences at the cost of energy depletion but they don't suffer so much unless they do so a number of times. It was observed by yogis that huge energies were built up in those who moderated the frequency of sperm release. It has been posited that there are alchemical processes of sort at work here barely understood by popular science but acknwledged by the some of the most noted & respected sex authorities in the world on the subject. It is also documented by researchers with empirical evidence as such in scientific trials..The yogis say the prana turns into ojas-and there are syntheses involved. One of the by-products in this chain it is said is a substance called amrita that finally supposedly dribbles down from the roof of the mouth or soft palette after syntheses first in the stomach from the bladder- into 'soma' and subsequently after reaching the brain. It is said that this can confer the elixir of youth( & boundless energy, wisdom etc) and enable some yogis to even live on limited food, air and sunlight(all sources of or vehicles for prana/energy)withstand hunger and thirst. There was high publicity yogi young boy and also an old 70 yr old tibetan that had hibernated for a long time(underwater and elsehwere and observed) i think, that both hit the media recently that it's speculated also had this process going on inside their nervous system.

I will say that, yes, you will be able to have a great deal of sex, and have great sexual prowess and stamina. And without the need to ejaculate. But you will be be able to enage in the sensual pleasures involved in sex but using them for spiritual purposes.

You will infact get everything you asked for and probably a whole lot more. That's why they call it nirvana, ecstatic bliss etc.

So there will most certainly be tremendous benefits obviously all round for you and your partner. You will certainly be able to pleasure your partner,Lencho, no end and you will exude a great radiance and charm that will be strongly palpable the moment you even enter the room.A glance is all it will take to take you and your partner both into an ecstatic bliss frenzy.

So you could be having more 'sex'(it no longer becomes just about intercourse,no longer the be all and end all) but you will be engaged with the world or a partner because you wish to give of yourself rather than take something from that sense of other.A great deal of normal sex is a very contrived and often mechanical affair-the partner seeks something from the other or an end-game or temporary satisfaction(usually trying to disguise or masquerade as love-this is of course what they are likely seeking).. But if you undergo some of the prior yogic training ,because you are in such a deep state of relaxation couple with heightened awareness then tantric sex is kind of off the radar in term of the normal range of human experince. I think one swami described it as

'Imagine an orgasm and then multiply that 1000times except it is an orgasm that never stops and can continue 24/7' ;
this is what tantric sex is like, because indeed it is occuring within your own nervous system. He did question why people settle for mediocre sex when they can be having mindblowing sex- and he is right- all it needs is some extended training. So that certainly sounds like something that will motivate everyone into spiritual practices of one kind or another.I would'nt be surpised if you put the brain of such a yogi under a scanner then you would see for yourself areas of the brain lighting up normally dormant or fast alsleep in a sense. It means they are more awake and aware than the average person. They are having sophisticated sex involving typically alot of foreplay and extended stimulation once both partners are in on the training act. What you have done is really woken up the neural and psychic circuitry in the body and mind through tweaking some of our evolutionary software. In fact man's natural state is one of ecstatic bliss;it's just somehow we forget it or regard it as improbable.

<<<<<Consciousness expands.>>>

So yes a BIG resoundinng YES to your query.

Great stuff!!!

How long does it take to get like that? Should I wait to explore this when there are no little kids in the house?

Hi Lencho,

12 months if you had unswerving dedication and devotion to the art ,craft & science.Really dedicated. 3-5 years -Commited. 2 years is probably more realistic.

I was gonna touch on that. That is the only thing with this practice if you are engaged in it solo particularly.Your neighbours or anyone else you share your house with might end up thinking you're a nymphomaniac....lol

Practically speaking, you could practice it really early in the morning, like before your morning asana practice, if you happen to be engaged in that.I'm thinking like 5 in the morning, kind of thing,or between 4am-6am.They call 4am the Hour of God, brahmamuhurta ,spirtually and energetically it is has always seemed riper for spiritual practices.

Ok, I'm back.... From personal experience and plenty of research I'm not sure Yoga is THE activity to turn to when you are in need of a libido boost.... What your after is the male hormone testosterone, and your not going to get any of that doing stretching and relaxation exercises in a room full of ladies. You may have to turn to things like weight lifting. There's plenty of evidence to support that testosterone can increase from heavy, compound (movements that involve multiple joint, like squats for example), also try to keep your body fairly trim. Body fat increases the female hormone estrogen,so do drugs and alcohol. A little red meat helps keep your testosterone up, so does a good nights sleep. Also have more sex. Sex boosts your sex drive, and your partners. Good luck!

Welcome back YogiAdam. I agree. To pump testosterone one needs to do testosterone pumping stuff. When your body is fully able to negotiate sexuality - phyically, emotionally, and chemically - you can introduce stimuli, like the sexiness of a yoga studio (I challenge some of the guys to deny the occatioanl sexual energies that circulate through a yoga class).

I agree with YogiAdam too. I used to frequent gym couple of years ago and whenever I had a good workout and my muscles were all 'pumped' I used to feel not only exceptionally exhilarated but could have stronger erection, increased sexual desire and increased semen production.

I apologize for prasing weight lifting on a yoga forums, but please allow me to add another thing. For over 15-18 yrs I have been struggling with digestive problems. My system is always swinging from one extreme to the other. During my weightlifting days I found that nothing helped me bring back my system back on track more than a really good weight-workout. The blood rush and the testosterone boost is real and I have experienced it. But I had to give it up because of joint injuries.

I think it now germane to add that IF the issue is one of testosterone, and I'm not saying that it is, then the issue is one of addressing the endocrine system as that is what regulates hormones in the body.

Again, this is an issue of nourishing a body system so that it may function properly. And, if limiting that conversation (of addressing the endocrine system) to the physical practice, there are certainly ways to bring balance to that system via asana (though asana alone is not a complete protocol).

With these things now in mind I would question the accuracy of:

Quote:
and your not going to get any of that doing stretching and relaxation exercises in a room full of ladies.
While that statement, as constructed, is "true" it should not be interpreted as "yoga cannot affect the endocrine system".

Oh and let me also add that the poses which stretch the inner thighs like straddle and frog pose, they should help.

What I read from Core789, my life has been worthless. I never had an experience what would equal an orgasm x 1000.
I mean, the first time I saw my baby girl ... coming to this world, obviously this is so much less of an experience. Or the feeling when I saw the lion soul of my father struggling with the handicapped old body it has to accomodate.
Or a sunrise two decades ago, what still shakes my heart when I think of it.
Or the time when I first fell in love, the vivid image of that beautiful shape of a girls cranium, ornated with golden hair and bathing in the sunlight. I think I was ... 7 years old ?

But what gives. My life have been, apparently wasted. If i think of it, I never even used Viagra. Maybe that's why my wife found another one.

Tantric yoga is very much beneficial for improving men and women's sexual health. Depression and stress disappear by preforming Tantric yoga . is it also beneficial for Women's sexual health. Headaches, menstrual cramps, urinary-tract problems, weak immune function, incontinence, etc. can also be treated with the help of Tantric yoga .
It also help to stimulating blood circulation, detoxifying the body through the breath, strengthening the cardiovascular, endocrine/immune and nervous functions, leading to improved sexual health, rejuvenation and longevity.
