silence is indeed golden. we will one day be able to communicate in
silence. some of us can. to be able to tell your heart from your ego, wow. i still cant tell which is which. soon, i'm optimistic.
one day , maybe we will be able to see that they are all apart of each other.
or have i left it un-tuned for so long that it is beyond recognition . i got to start paying attention to these things. peace be the guide between your choices.

yes, and when thinking = thoughts ceases we can really start to communicate and share, but that may be too deep for some.

So that is one of the reasons I meditate every morning, then all thought stop and I can just listen inwardly to the beautiful song of the Divine within.

grizzly adams was a tv show of a guy who lived in a log cabin in the mountains. he had a big bear that was his friend/pet.

Hi Seeker,

In South Africa the country only got television in 1976. My parents bought our first TV in 1986, I was then 16, I think it was perhaps a bit before my time then. I am not a great TV watcher so I might mis some of the programmes. But thanks, it sounds like a great show.

Hi,

To answer, no I didn't watch much tv even after we got one. We used to read at night or did crossword puzzles or played games (chess, monopoly and cluedo) and we used to listen to the news and stories on the radio.

Anyway I think tv has its place (a very small one indeed), but not as it is currently, too much violence and programming creating attachment and desire, not good for a spiritual life.

Well, I think the TV and Media sure has its purposes. Also in regard to global spiritual development. It all ads to the chaos I agree, but that chaos is very much a part of the coming changes. Without the global chaotic, malfunctioning of the ego, we would not have such a rise in counterbalance like the growing of sereous interest in yoga and spirituality. The chaos is pushing us to either destruction or enlightenment. So it is here for a reason I'dd say. To speed things up. Not only chaos, but also its counterpart.

During 1975-1989, in Romania, there was a single, national TV, what broadcasted from 20 to 22 pm. The iron courtain was just so heavy. Bu we, as kids, did not care too much about this.
When, after 1989, we could receive satellites, the first channels were in german ... but me and my sis did not care, we just watched the tube countless hours.

Not much a TV fan today, mostly because my wife sits on it all the time. Fortunatley, she has, what I have not ... TV culture. She selects days forward what worths seeing, and she sticks to it. Quite good a taste she has, yes.
