I'm a climber and I wanted to know about what kind of yoga positions might be more beneficial for climbing.
I use the muscles around my shoulder blades alot. I also extend the balls and toes of my feet alot. I also stretch my arms quite a bit. Balance is extremely important. Any tips for specifically working on balance? |

I'm a climber as well.
I find that leg flexibility is essential. I was just on a climb, and I only got past the final 3rd by doing what amounts to a spilt in mid air. For this, splits, and the forward bend cycle work well. For arms, I would suggest the scorpion, the lotus variations which involve your arms supporting your folded body, peacock, and most of the crow variations, especially the handstand. I find the wheel to be excellent for stretching and strengthening the core of your body. If you shoulders are sore, I'd say spend some time in up and down dog. |

Alot of that, I have already found to be true; I look forward to practicing those moves in particular before climbing |
