Hello!

This is a somewhat stupid question but I'm asking anyway as I want to be sure.

I signed up for classes in a big yoga club where everything is provided from mats to towels to toiletries. After my first class yesterday though, I realized that although yoga is traditionally practiced barefoot, this may not be very practical in my case on account of hygiene.

I should probably ask to be certain but I'm almost sure that they don't disinfect those mats after every class. At the end of the day most likely but not after each class.

Just imagine the bacteria and viruses that those mats could harbor! Warts, anyone?

Long story short, I'd like to wear some kind of footwear beginning in my next class. I heard about yoga socks, but I don't believe they are available anywhere where I live. Can I wear just any old socks? Thick? thin? Cotton? Polyester? Ankle? High?

It probably doesn't matter but I don't wanna show up looking like a retard.

Okay, that's shallow but any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just buy yourself a yoga mat and bring it to class.

Done and done.
