I am currently undergoing chemo and have a bad time with nausea. The drugs while effective to a point are not reliable or that good for me. My doctor at a big name cancer clinic knew I did yoga and suggested I try to use it to help my nausea. I am a new yoga student, within the last year, and would like to hear any suggestions on help with this. My doctor is very interested also. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Pranayama can be helpful for nausea. Recommend a gentle practice of exhaling twice as long as inhale. If this is not possible, then count length of exhale and inhale same length of time. This is helpful for release of tension and toxins, and to elicit relaxation response.

Apanasana and Child's Pose are also recommended for nausea as well as stomach or menstrual cramps.

You may wish to write to Mukunda for more information. He may direct you to someone with specific training in yoga for cancer treatment.

Namaste,
Chandra
