FOr most of my life, I have found that excessive heat makes me almost incapacitated. It drains the life out of me. However, I've been practicing Yoga for a few months and have noticed that my heat intolerance is diminishing. Is there a correlation? Thanks.

Without reading your pulses to know with some certainty, it sounds as though you may have have had an excess-pitta imbalance throughout your life, and that excess pitta is now diminishing and the pitta dosha is moving toward balance. The balancing of the doshas is just one of the lovely benefits of an appropriate Yoga practice---it is another chance for personal shradda (faith) that our practice is always serving us for our highest benefit. It is a good lesson to keep practicing, even when it appears to not be "working."

Kind regards,

Dear renie

yes it is possible that heat increase with the practice of yoga.

i will say some other symptoms which you are facing right now

1. you feel very heat at base of hand and feet
2. you are feeling heat at the eye and feelling some what heavyness in head

there are many symptoms but there are many methods to handle this and do your yoga in easy way.

because yoga means play with energy but in systematic way.

Thank you Nicole. Although this week, the heat intolerance is re-appearing unfortunately. We've had the hottest summer in years--since May, temps have been in the high 80's to high 90's.

Thank you but what I actually meant was that I was experiencing more tolerance with heat (high outdoor temperatures, for example) since I started yoga. So far, I haven't experienced anything unpleasant during yoga practice.
