" The majority of modern peoples, if asked to find the place within their body where the unique self resides, would say that it lives about an inch above their eyebrows and about two inches into the skull. but most indigenous and historical peoples would locate the self someplace else. They would gesture in the region of the heart..."

"...consciousness is highly mobile and is able to use a variety of locations in the body through which to process the information we receive from the world... Interestingly, as human consciousness orients itself in different locations in the body, its mode of cognition changes as well. The verbal/intellectual/analytic mode of cognition so common among scientists is the mode utilized by the brain. It is linear by nature. We have been so habituated to this mode that we often forget that there is another form of cognition. The secod mode is the holistic/intuitive/depth mode of cognition. And when the seat of consciousness is located not in the brain, but in the heart, it is the second more holistic mode that is activated."

drink the honey that is all around that flower..."

From "The Secret Teachings of Plants" by Stephen Buhner, 2004, Vermont: Bear and Company.

This heart place is dangerous. Once you taste it, you always want more of it, just to be there and never leave.

When all the clever talk of the mind is exhausted.
There is only the heart left where the joy of infinity is finally experienced...

Thank you lavina for posting this.
