Inspiring quotations from Hinduism & other sources

Come and share spiritually inspiring quotations from Hinduism and other sources.

Let me begin with this one:

That which is the most subtle--this whole universe has That as its self.
That is the Real. That is the Self. That you are.

- Chandogya Upanishad

I eat love, I breathe love. God's form is love and if you want to find Him, it can only be through love. Always maintain and nurture the love that springs up from within. Don't allow it to get spoiled because when pure love gets frustrated or spoiled, it is worse than death. Love is earned by giving love. It cannot be bought. However, unlike money, the love you earn goes with you at death. -- Baba Prakashananda

We'll grow kindness in our hearts
For all the strangers among us
Until there are no strangers anymore

From Hinduism? Hmmm. I'm not sure what to make of that but ...

The occult seeker into the open came:
He heard the far and touched the intangible,
He gazed into the future and the unseen;
He used the powers earth-instruments cannot use,
A pastime made of the impossible;
He caught up fragments of the Omniscient's thought,
He scattered formulas of omnipotence.
Thus man in his little house made of earth's dust
Grew towards an unseen heaven of thought and dream
Looking into the vast vistas of his mind
On a small globe dotting infinity.
At last climbing a long and narrow stair
He stood alone on the high roof of things
And saw the light of a spiritual sun.
Aspiring he transcends his earthly self;
He stands in the largeness of his soul new-born,
Redeemed from encirclement by mortal things
And moves in a pure free spiritual realm
As in the rare breath of a stratosphere;
A last end of far lines of divinity,
He mounts by a frail thread to his high source;
He reaches his fount of immortality,
He calls the Godhead into his mortal life.

Quote ?

Above those who don't know, there are those who know

Above those who know, there are those who retain

Above those who retain, there are those who understand

Above those who understand, there are those who apply

Above those who apply, there are those who get results

Above those who get results, are those who reach succes

Above those who reach success, are those who get the powers

Above those who get the powers, there are those using them to reach the Absolute - by what everything becomes possible

...

Now, this is a rought translation, maybe somone can better quote it in english

'what appears to be coming at you is coming from you.'

'there are many within and one that watches. let the many pass, be the one that watches.'

not sure where these came from, i know my source, but it's not the original source.

I worship in my heart the Goddess
whose body is awash in ambrosia,
beautiful like lightning, who, going from her abody
to Shiva's royal palace, opens the lotuses
of the lovely axial channel (sushumna).
- Bhairav-Stotra

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"
Gandhi

"Great compassion penetrates into the marrow of the bone. It is the support of all living beings. Like the love of a parent for an only child, the tenderness of the Compassionate One is all-pervasive."
Nagarjuna (Indian, first century)

"Unconditional Love: Love yourself, others, and every situation - no matter what the outward appearances may be"
(That is coming from "Goddess guidance oracle cards" which I like to use sometimes )

You are spiritual beings here for a human experience.
- Yogi Bhajan

Prayer is when the mind is one-pointed
and man talks to Infinity. Meditation is
when the mind becomes totally clean and
receptive, and Infinity talks to man.
-Yogi Bhajan
