Secrets.

What are the secrets that you have not told?

The secrets that wind around your heart,

and close off the ducts that allow the nectar born of cardiac tissue to flow outward,

so as to infuse the bones and joints with the sultry juice of cosmic bliss.

This fluid, held in too long, calcifies, making a prison out of the stuff

that forms the brillance of the moon.

These secrets, deep and hidden even from you,

form the cement in the throat,

harden the bones until they are a brittle disaster

create the milky filmed coating over the eyes

and the pain deep in the center of the forehead

that causes the cracked lines of concentration to appear between the brows,

frown lines to form around the lips that were meant only to sip in sweetness

And the shoulders to roll inwardly

Until the palms face behind,

Hoping they may catch something that may have inadvertently

Dropped from between the blade edges of your shoulders.

This secret, the one that jumped out so suddenly,

from the shock of its own recognition

let go of its hold

of the pulmonary artery

and created a chain of destruction in the organisim.

As the unfamiliar fluid began to ooze out in tiny drops

the size of bats tears

down into the maze of capillaries that form a net under your skin,

the haze began to clear,

the bones regained some softness

the cement realized a crack

and the calcification began to tremble.

The problem is, once this magnificent prison

gets even the smallest of fissures

all secrets are in trouble.

They are on the run.

and they too begin to tremble

without realizing

this only accelerates the process

of their destruction.

thank you for sharing "secrets" & "longing" & "ash" & "teacher's manual"... those words touch a chord that resonates and vibrates within me.
