The source of
VIOLENCE
is
within
me.

Each act
of
harshness
judgment
rejection
suppression

sends
reverberations
of
violence
into
the
nucleus
of
myself
my family
my community

and

D I F F U S E S

out into the

WORLD.

The source
of
unlimited
LOVE
is
within
me.

I
sing
and
dance.

I
accept
and
surrender.

I
empty

out.

The
spring
of loving-kindness
and
compassion
begins to flow
into the nucleus of
myself
my family
my community
and

surges

out into the

WORLD

the source of violence is within all of us. the source of love is within all of us. it is up to us to consciously access the correct source when we are faced with difficult situations.

it is easy to fly off the handle when we feel angry. we've all done it. the outcome is never good. but when we breathe...and breathe...and breathe...we can start to control our emotions. step back from the negativity that consumes us and allow love to permeate our thoughts.

it isn't easy, but something that we must practice constantly. believe in your ability to cultivate positive changes that will lead us to happiness...

I found that if one diligently learns to see him/herself as if from the outside, or as if he/she would be another person, than that person develops a certain awarness that is always active. Than you see yourself angry, you let anger come and go, without controlling you. Anger, it can't be eliminated, but it can be detached and forbid to take over. Also, anger can be justified when one encounters a lawless, inhuman action for example. If one does not let anger control him/her, one can use the energy of anger for lucid but firm action.
I think Jesus was really angry when he had drawn out the merchants from the temple ...

good poem. personally, i have a small problem with anger and violence, and i know it is not caused by anything external. So that is why i like what you said about violence is within me.

hey, speaking of violence...

why is America such a violent place, given its standard of living? I have a few ideas, and it isnt fast food joints. Is this too far OT? Feel free to ignore this if it is too contriversial, or if it would detract from the original message of the thread.
