Dear Mukunda,
A friend of mine has been diagnosed early ankylosing spondylitis. He has pain in his back, neck, shoulder, knee and hip in that order. He has stiffness in lower back and he finds difficulty in bending forward. The disease is in early stage. What type of yoga can help him. Thanks.

In general best is moderate hatha yoga or viniyoga rather than more vigorous approaches. I would especially recommend regulard practice of my Joint Freeing Series described in my book Structural Yoga Therapy.
