Ganglion cyst
Q - Hello, I have been receiving your wisdom letters for some time. I have been asked to help with stress relief and relief for the ganglion on a client's ankle. She has full range of motion and it hurts to walk at all by the end of the day. Mainly sitting and has had her feet elevated. Any ideas for the ankle please?

Ganglion cyst is a form of pitta aggravation. My recommendation would be not with asanas but rather with cleaning up diet -- avoid pitta elevating foods, such as night shades (tomato, potato, eggplant, peppers). More specifically I would encourage her to do the joint freeing series daily and do Indra Devi's 10 day cleanse diet. That is detailed on www.yogaforums.com -- go there and do a search for the arthritis diet. Even if this is not related to arthritis, they are both pitta conditions and will respond to this diet.
