jalandhara bandha
How to do jalandhara bandha in a correct way? Do you always have to use it when you practise kumbhaka? What are the effects of doing it? When are you sure you do it correct?
And Mula bandha? Thanks Mirkerachel |

jalandhara bandha
First of all pranayama is only to be learned from one teacher or at the minimum one lineage. This because all pranayama does not go the same place nor is it taught for same purpose. So i can only give general comments here. Bandhas are to be used only with breath retentions or kumbhakas. The major effects are cited in Yoga Sutras as the topics from II, 49 onward to the end of the chapter. They should create a suspension of breath beyond what is natural and be effort free. Then they will lead to pratyahara as described in the text. All yoga practices to be Yoga must follow the guidelines and attainments Patanjali has described in this text. I have written a version of the text you may find illuminating. namaste mukunda
