I suffer from this problem. I have repeated tried in succession uttanapada,dhanur,chakra & matsya as recommended by swami Dhirendra Brahmachari but it has not worked. I think his advice applies when the centre shifts down leading to loose motions. Then it stops it immediately.
If the center has shifted upwards resulting in constipation /anxiety the same asanas do not work as a cursory examination of the above postures reveal that all of them pull the abdomen muscles upwards. Hence there must be different asanas to bring it down in case it has shifted upwards.
Can any one throw more light on this subject?

I'm sure we would all be delighted to engage this topic with you. If you desire that, perhaps you would kindly tell us of the problem rather than the solution which is currently not working.

You mention "I suffer from this problem", what problem please?

Are you working directly with the teacher you mention?

The problem is constipation & anxiety when the center shifts upwards.
I am working with a Yoga Therapist who is also an ayurveda doctor but we don't know the exact asanas to be performed. we are trying several but so far I have not succeeded.

Okay, half the puzzle now together. Center of what please?
Center of the torso? Center of the belly? Center of gravity?

And you do realize how confusing it is to hear "yoga therapist" and "we do not know which asanas to use", right?

They call it Nabhchakra or navel center.There is a discussion on this in Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari's book 'yogic suksham vyayam;
It is also called Solar Plexus.If you go to google and type solarplexus you will get all the information.It is believed to exist around in the navel button.
Also called the inner brain.Believed to control digestion & emotion.
If you can get any useful information it will greatly help

Run dear, run, do you realise how scary this looks here? My advice find another therapist/doctor immediately!

I know it is some what puzzling as many Ayurveda and Yoga Therapists are not aware of this. It was discovered in India but sadly the knowledge has disappeared. A couple of pages are devoted in the book ;Health in Your Hands' by Devendra Vora. There was an article on the subject in the Yoga Magazine published in USA.(not available in India) Infact USA yoga teachers practice this healing also called solarplexes chakra healing. Acupuncture methods are also available.It is supposed to be a part of Ayurveda but I am still looking for some authority on this subject.
Please don't give flippant answers.I am in no mood to take it.
