Understanding Cancer - Welcome to Alimta.com: Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Information from Eli Lilly & Company About Lung Cancer Lung cancer is a form of cancer that begins in the lungs. The two main types of lung cancer are non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). About 85% of all people diagnosed with lung cancer have non-small cell lung cancer. Small cell lung cancer is a more aggressive type of lung cancer that appears in about 15% of all lung cancer diagnoses. For a more detailed discussion of lung cancer, we invite you to visit The Wellness Community's Web site section, "Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer", co-sponsored by Lilly. This resource provides information to help you understand lung cancer and your treatment options, manage your symptoms and side effects, and reach informed, empowered decisions about your treatment. The information on this page and more may be found in the Lung Cancer category within the "Learn About Cancer" section at The American Cancer Society website. |
