It is wise to check with the registration boards before registering for teacher training courses eg: Yoga Alliance and in Australia Yoga Teachers Association of Australia. Schools may claim to be registered but this doesn't mean it is so! Knoff Yoga in Queensland, Australia has been recently discovered to have made false claims about their school being registered with Yoga Teachers Association of Australia. It is not! These considerations are very important when choosing a teacher training course as it affects a teachers insurance! Not everyone in the yoga industry is honest. This is an industry like any other so watch out for frauds and less than honest operators. Do you homework before handing over your money!

Ah but just the tip of the iceberg when evaluating a teacher training.

You are right Sam. But I'd like to change the phrasing this way.

Not everyone embraces ethics and honesty. And those non-embracers are in all walks of life, including yoga.

Which is why there is one over-arching principle I apply in this sort of instance.
Instead of being lured by beautiful asana, supple limbs, slim muscles, and buns of steel, find a teacher who lives yoga! While that does not insure you are being trained by a teacher of teachers, it does remedy a good many things...including integrity and respect.

Hallelujah! IA, thank you for your commitment to sharing this again and again.

May the blessings of Yoga now begin for all,
