driving down the road I passed a lemonade stand and on the other side of the road was a supermarket. Feeling like something different I stopped at the little girls lemonade stand. she asked me if I would like to drink a glass of lemonade for $0.50 and I said sure. She reached for the knife, cut the lemon in half, squeezed the juice, added some water and sweetened it with honey. As I sat there drinking it I looked across the street, the market was packed, and I thought to myself, this is the best lemonade in town and to think it is the cheapest as well.

In South Africa we have a saying: "Local is lekker" which roughly translated means that the local stuff is the best. There is great move towards local farmers' markets etc. and trying to keep home industries alive by supporting them through outlets in shopping centres. The products and produce are usually great and if you want quality, they will meet it and give it to you.
