That is so cool! I can't wait to hear about all the things you'll be learning in your training. I am glad to know that we are going to have another great Yoga teacher out there in the world!

That sounds so great. I'd love to study to become a yoga teacher someday. In the meantime, I'll just be excited that other people are doing it! Good luck with it!

Great, thanks! I've subbed two classes so far. It's a bit weird as I'm not used to being the one "in charge," but it's good!

It's hard to imagine moving from student to yoga teacher, the "one in charge." Three cheers for you!

Xela,
Can you tell us what its like to teach a yoga class for the first time? What kind of vibes did you you feel from the students?

Peace,

K

It was a bit strange being the one in charge and people really care about what you say and are going to do whatever you say, so it was weird, but it's ok. I'm just more used to be a student giving another student advice. I think once I get used the transition it'll be no big thing!

I think I would be hyper aware of beginners struggling to stay up in down dog, etc when you are walking around making corrections. It also seems that if you are doing everything with them, its easier to remember when to say inhale, bring your left foot forward, etc but during asanas which require you to watch them (and not do it), I would lose track.

I can't wait to move back to America and do a teacher training program.

By the way, love the Hendrix quote - started using it myself.

Yeah, that balance was strange to me. I know some studios are more hands on and some aren't so I was a bit iffy since I was just subbing the class. I did a bit of both...definitely need more practice! hehe

Glad you like the quote...I really like it too!

Oh, I forgot - subbing must be very different since you may not be able to develop a "vibe" with them. I'll bet you can't wait to have your own students.
