I do teach Kum Nye, Tibetan Yoga. Most of my time is spent working in publishing, correspondence and shipping. I live at a retreat center in Northern California. Community living is one of the most challenging aspects of practice in daily life. Things like relaxing in conflict and patience become key to my yoga in daily life practice.

I love what I do and wish I could do more of it; I aim to live everyday as an investment in my spiritual development...even when I am sanding and painting, I am meditating and chanting mantras quietly to myself...with my music I wish to take it to the next level; I would love to make yoga/meditation music, that would be so fulfilling! As for modeling, I am most happy when it has to do with health, wellness and healing...but I do have the occasional commercial work that I take for extra money...of course, I have debated with myself about taking on modeling/acting work that is not in alignment with my higher purpose. For example, what if one of the major fast-food chains asked me to do a commercial...would I take it? That would be a great contract, bringing in major $$$$ upfront with years of royalties...but do I eat or want to promote fast-food? NO WAY!!! So, my answer would always be no...because I believe health is our greatest wealth and, as a holistic fitness trainer, I just cannot condone such destructive behavior towards self and Mother Earth. I may have to be more patient for the right flow of money to bless my family and I with prosperous abundance, but it will definitely be worth the extra effort... : )

I am a waitress at the Hard Rock Casino.

Biology Student-Full-Time. I pay my own bills and for my own schooling.

I plan on going to Dental School when I receive my B.S.

With the help of yoga I will stay sane through the process

I'm a mum with two kids, one on the way, and a crazy boxer puppy (don't ask, it was my husbands idea). I also run ActivewearUSA.com which I started after my second daughter was born and i found Yoga.

So is Yoga compatible? It's my life, on so many levels!

What a fun and interesting thread! It is so nice to know a little more about the other members here--some of you I've known now for years.

I am a certified Yoga therapist specializing in Structural and Ayurvedic Yoga therapeutics and rehabilitation. I work within the model of the five Koshas, or the Pancha Maya Kosha model, thus my business name: Five Kosha Yoga Therapy.

I am also an Ayurvedic chef, as well as an editor and writer on topics that include Yoga, Ayurveda, organics, health and wellness, green living and global travel. I am married to my sweetheart and I am a committed sadhaka.

It has been said in this thread before, but to say again for myself, all of these passions flow with grace as Yogasadhana in my life. I am glad to share these same passions here with all of you; and thank you for your sharing!

With a deep bow,
Nichole

It is so interesting how many people working in the mental health industry are also into yoga!
I am a social worker who is currently working as an advocate for adults with severe psychiatric disablities who are transitioning out of the state hospital and into the community. It has been an incredibly stressful and trying position and meditation has done wonders for my mood and attitude at work.
I am actually leaving that job next month in order to attend a yoga teacher training. One might call my current state "burn out".
I would like to incorporate mental wellness into my teaching of yoga. It is becoming a more accepted form of non-traditional therapy. Actually I see so many paralells between Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the yoga philosophy writings I am exploring.

I work in marketing for a merchant services company (credit card processing). Yoga keeps me balanced and I hope to teach part time within the next year.

I use to be an elementary school teacher but when you move across state lines when times are tough you take the job that puts food on the table. I like the people that I work with and enjoy the process of designing and writing marketing materials.

My Hawaii retreat center didn't quite workout. I ended up having to choose between the island I love and the woman I love

Now I'm back to focusing on my websites. I'm sure I'll branch out into something new in the not too distant future when I get a new scratch to itch.

Currently I work at a restaurant, mainly as a dishwasher or busser. I plan on getting a job in power line clearance soon. They are all 'just a job' to me really. I recently decided that traditional education wasn't right for me,and have intentions to go into the fitness industry, quite possibly to instruct Yoga (once I feel competent enough because it's much more of a responsibility than merely teaching a exercise class, as most of you are well aware i'm sure) and brazillian jui-jitsu (again, once I reach that point in my own practice).

I've also seriously considered studying Ayurvedic medicine, kinesology, reiki, massage, and any other healing art that I feel I could successful employ to help others.

In all honesty though, I'm twenty years old and really don't know much other than I love Yoga and all it does for humanity. Hopefully my sincere intentions will blossom into something worthwhile and fulfilling.

P.S. Please feel free to respond in anyway you wish because I can use all the direction and help that comes to me.

Namaste
