Pandara, whilst i understand where you are coming from when you say depression is due to inflation of the ego it does appear that many depressed people have physiological imbalances contributing to their depression. They may do much inner work on ego and detachment from the body/ mind etc but if the physiological imbalance remains they will not be able to overcome it. Its much more than just the ego as im sure those who have experienced it will confirm.
